The Foundations Module is the first step in your Pilates instructor journey. This training aims to understand the structure of the human body, the movement system, and the fundamental principles of exercise science.

Basic Science Preparation – Pilates Training

Participants gain a solid scientific foundation in subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and Pilates principles.

This program teaches a holistic understanding of the body, not just its external appearance, but its muscles, joints, and movement systems. This allows participants to practice Pilates movements consciously and safely, providing a strong foundation for advanced training.

Anatomy and the Musculoskeletal System
Basic anatomy terminology
Structure of the musculoskeletal system
Anatomy of the spine and pelvis
The functions and importance of core muscles
Axes, planes, and directions of movement
Physiology and Exercise Science
Types of muscle contraction and muscle fiber types
Energy systems (ATP-PC, glycolytic, aerobic)
The relationship of the respiratory and circulatory systems to exercise
Exercise adaptation, recovery, and adaptation processes
Biomechanics and Posture Analysis
Centers of strength, balance, and gravity
Joint range of motion (ROM)
Posture analysis and muscle imbalances
Posture disorders: lordosis, kyphosis, scoliosis
Basic Principles of Pilates
Concentration, control, centering, fluidity, breath, sensitivity
Neutral spine and pelvic alignment
Scapular stability and the biomechanical role of breath
Controlology principles and Pilates Philosophy
Conscious Movement and Applied Science
Muscle activation sequences
The relationship between stabilization and mobilization
Fundamentals of balance, proprioception, and kinesthesia
Conscious movement approach and exercise safety
